KiwiFab Inc. is a steel fabrication and installation company in Eugene, Oregon, owned and run by Craig Donaldson, President.
Craig began as a fitter/welder apprentice in New Zealand, maintaining and repairing agricultural equipment, grading conveyors and harvesting machines. He went on to build heavy transport truck bodies and trailers, using all aspects of welding, fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics.
In Australia he worked on heavy earthmoving equipment, mastered shop fitting, and spent five years as a manager at PSF Steel Fabrications, running staff and projects, working with architects on prototypes, and serving as the workplace Health and Safety Officer.
Craig moved to the United States in 2006 and settled in Eugene. That experience and a passion for the work drive everything we build: efficient work and a high quality of craftsmanship.

Fences & Gates
Metal fences and gates for homes, farms and commercial sites, fabricated in our Eugene shop, installed by our crew, and fitted with gate openers when you need them.

Open position
Shop Fabricator – Coordinator and QC
Plan and direct the work flow through the assignment of tasks and ensure each task is completed efficiently, safely and that end product expectations are met or exceeded.
Examples of duties
- Manage work in progress
- Plan and direct layout of equipment, workflow and assembly methods
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager in planning weld inspections as required
- Ensure Quality Control Standards and the use of Shop Drawings
- Ensure all work is manufactured in a correct, cost-effective and timely manner, in line with specifications and quality requirements
Qualifications & education
- Preferred experience: 7–10 years in steel fabrication
- AWS D1.1 (Unlimited) Weld Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work from blueprints and read a tape measure
- Must have a driver's license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

- Ability to read blueprints and engineering fabrication drawings
- Strong welding knowledge and application: MIG, TIG and stick/flux-core

Do you install the steel you fabricate?
Yes. We fabricate in our Eugene shop and our own crew installs on site, from structural frames to railings, stairs and gates.

What materials and welding processes do you work with?
We weld mild steel, stainless steel (including food-grade), aluminum, chromoly and other alloys, using MIG, TIG and stick welding.
